Blessing of bikes, ride planned
JAY — Rides Exclusively About Supporting Our Neighbors (REASON) and Lane Dube Post 33, AMVETS, will host a Blessing of the Bikes and Special Olympics Benefit Ride at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, rain or shine, in the St. Rose of Lima Church parking lot.
There will be a donation bucket at the Blessing of the Bikes, with proceeds going to the church.
The ride will start immediately after the blessing. A Poker Run will be $5 a hand, with more details the day of the ride. A barbecue will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the post, with donations being accepted.
A dance will take place from 7? to 11 ?p.m. and there will be 50/50 and a silent auction.
Memorial Day Committee to meet
JAY — The Memorial Day Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the American Legion, Reynolds Avenue. All are invited.
Legion post to hold Texas Hold’em
OXFORD — The Oxford American Legion Post 112 will host a Texas Hold’em Tournament from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Legion Hall, 169 King St. Buy-in is $55, with an optional $5 for high hand.
Doors will open at noon, table draw is 12:45 and play will begin at 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit veterans programs.
Refreshments will be provided by Squadron 112, Sons of the American Legion. This will be a non-alcoholic event and participants must be 18 years or older to participate.

Wacky Wednesday at library
NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library Children’s Department is hosting science programs on the last Wednesday of the month during the school year.
The last program is from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30. The themes are rainbows, nonfictionator games and bubbles.

Finnish-American Society to meet
WEST PARIS — The monthly meeting of the Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at 8 Maple St.
Following a brief business meeting, members will be entertained by the A’Chording to Kantele.
All are invited to attend the musical program and coffee table.
Tee it up for New Vineyard Public Library
NEW VINEYARD — Tee It Up for a Great Library, the New Vineyard Public Library Golf Scramble, will take place Sunday, June 10, at the Diadema Golf Club, 419 New Portland Road, North Anson.
The library is accepting applications of individuals or teams of four for the annual nine-hole Best Ball Golf Scramble. Cost is $45 each, which includes lunch.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun tee time starting at 8:30.
