LEWISTON — Godfrey O. Cloutier, 99, formerly of 75 Fair St., Lewiston, died Sunday, May 6, at d’Youville Pavilion. Born in Berlin, N.H., on July 12, 1918, he was the son of Henri and Rosanna Cloutier. He was educated locally, and owner and operator of Cloutier Bros. Auto Sales with his brother Bill. On Aug. 17, 1940, he married Olive Gagne at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston.

He was a World War II vet, stationed on the Naval Mine Warfare Test Station, Solomons, Md. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, bowling; he also held bowling classes for children at holiday lanes. He was a master of tinkering with anything mechanical or electrical. His greatest joy was spending time telling stories to his three children, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his two daughters Rolande of Florida, Rachel of Lewiston and one son, Raymond, of Florida. He was predeceased by his wife, siblings and parents.
