LEWISTON — Six Maine college students received Maine Campus Compact’s statewide Heart and Soul Student Award on April 25 in the Edmund S. Muskie Archives at Bates College.

Each year, Maine Campus Compact recognizes up to six college students who are actively involved in transforming their campuses and communities into environments of civic engagement. These students have developed positive community and campus change, and have worked to institutionalize their
community projects.

Recipients are Aaminah Aleem, University of Maine at Augusta; Elyse Caiazzo, Saint Joseph’s College of Maine; Adrienne Carmack, Colby College; Emily Halford, Bates College; Samantha Saucier, University of Maine; and Brianna Wilson, Bates College.
