Map adventure at wildlife park
GRAY — The Maine Wildlife Park, Route 26, will begin the summer event season with Map Your Adventure Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
In a world where GPS technology is commonplace, reading and understanding maps is still a critical skill. Visitors can use the park’s new map to learn map basics, join scavenger hunts and games for prizes, even find hidden “treasure” in the park.
Park recreational safety instructors will teach participants how to use a map and compass in the woods along with other survival skills.
For more information about the programs, call the Maine Wildlife Park at 207-657-4977, ext. 0, or visit www.mainewildlifepark.com, www.mefishwildlife.com or Facebook.
