WILTON — The Wilton CareerCenter will offer the following workshops during May at no cost to the public.
Employer Expectations — Wednesday, May 16, 1-3 p.m. The workshop will cover creating a great resume, preparing for an interview and preparing for a new job. This workshop is for anyone is interested in improving their resume writing skills, getting tips on interviewing and getting new job preparedness from an employer’s perspective. Registration required.
MEOC 101, Essentials of College Planning — Wednesday, May 16, 10 a.m.-noon. The interactive workshop touches on the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career and study skills. The financial aid portion will provide an overview of financial basics and the completion of the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Vocational Rehabilitation Orientation — Thursday, May 3, 9-10:30 a.m. An orientation for people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services. Orientations are held the first Thursday of the month. Service providers are also welcome to attend. Registration not required
Business startups — The Small Business Administration will offer three workshops: Starting Your Own Small Business, Access to Capital and Federal and State Resources for Small Business. Most are two hours long. For more information, call Bill Card at 207-622-8555
Rumford area Vocational Rehabilitation Orientation — Wednesday, May 16, 2-4 p.m., at Region 9 School of Applied Technology, Mexico. An orientation for people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services. Orientations are held the third Wednesday of the month. Service providers are welcome to attend. Registration not required.
