FRISCO, Texas — The Monmouth Academy Academic Decathlon Team, who are the Maine State Champions, are now the Super Quiz Division III National Champions and have the No. 1 Division III Varsity Student in the country, Jaryd Bates.

They completed a successful national competition on April 21 by finishing third in Division III in the nation. They were only 830 points out of first place. The team won 14 individual medals led by senior Jaryd Bates and freshman Rhayna Poulin. Overall, Monmouth won medals in eight of the 10 events.
