WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Ralph L. Judd Jr., 91, died at his home Thursday, April 12, following a long illness.
He was born in Lisbon on Aug. 7, 1926, the son of Ralph L. Judd Sr. and Elsie Beal (Judd) Chase. He attended Lisbon schools. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army in 1944 and served during World War II in France and Germany.
Ralph married Earline Butler on June 21, 1948, in Lisbon and raised his family there. For 69 years they enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their grandchildren at the family cottage in Harpswell.
He had worked many years in the Lisbon textile industry. His greatest professional joy was his last job as head custodian at Lisbon High School. He was always present at the sports activities held at the high school gym and loved talking to all of the students.
He is survived by his wife, Earline; his daughter, Sheila McAllister and husband, Val of Bonaire, Ga.; son-in-law, Howard F. Jones Jr. of Perry, Ga.; three sisters, Margaret Waters, Pat Jordan and Elsie Samson; brothers, Stanley Judd, David Chase, Dale Chase, Danny Chase, Ken Chase; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Earline J. Jones; son, Ralph L. Judd III and brothers, Lawrence Judd and Howard Chase.
