I was once an avid fan of wrestling. When World Wrestling Entertainment decided to let wrestlers use chairs, tables and gang up on a person as part of the programming, they lost this fan. What does it show children watching the show? That it is OK to gang up on a person and beat the stuffing out of him or her?
When I was younger, back in the time of Bruno Sammartino, it was one-on-one. No foreign objects or the wrestler would forfeit the match. Today, they can use chairs, sledge hammers or anything else they can get their hands on.
Is that really what children should be watching? I know, people are saying just change the channel. That is fine for an adult, but sometimes a child is watching what his or her parents are watching.
Just wanted to put it out there. Such “entertainment” is the way children get ideas about taking action. People should be aware of who else is watching in the background. Also, get young people off those shooter video games. So many ways kids can be influenced these days.
