PORTLAND — Stephen J. Comeau, 67, a resident of Poland Road in Auburn, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 17, with his loving family by his side, at Maine Medical Center, following an eight-year battle with neuroendocrine cancer.
He was born in Lewiston, March 13, 1951, the son of Albert and Angelique (Vermette) Comeau. Stephen was a 1969 graduate of Lewiston High School.
He later met the love of his life, the former Doris Giguere, whom he married June 7, 1974. Together they raised two beautiful children, Stacey and Jeff.
He was a well-known Realtor for over 25 years in our community. Steve was always a selfless person who put his family and friends first. He always brought a smile to anyone he met and was always willing to help you out.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, of Auburn; one son, Jeffrey Comeau, and wife, Ashley, of New Gloucester; one daughter, Stacey Bashaw, and husband, Travis, of Auburn; one sister, Lana Nye, of Lewiston; also surviving are three grandchildren who meant the world to him, Brayden Bashaw, and Peyton and Charlee Comeau.
The family would like to thank the IR Department at St. Mary’s Medical Center, the staff at New England Cancer Specialists, and the nurses and staff on the Gibson Floor at Maine Medical Center.
