GREENE — Local singer-songwriter Stan Davis will join regular story time volunteer Sandra Fowler to lend a musical note to Morse Library’s upcoming Saturday Story Time session at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28.

Since retiring as the long-time guidance counselor at Sidney Elementary School, Davis has enjoyed spending time with his young grandchildren and writing and performing songs. He has performed solo at such area venues as Sulley’s in Winthrop and the Emporium in Readfield and as part of the duo “Hurry Down Sunshine” in Turner’s “Music at the Gazebo” series and the “Those Winter Days” variety show at Auburn’s Unitarian Universalist Church.

As a performer, Davis is equally at home performing acoustic versions of his own songs and a large repertoire of folk and Americana standards for adults and children.

The current round of Saturday Story Times continues through May 5. Free and open to all, the programs are best for children ages 2 to 6 and their adult caregivers, but older and younger siblings are welcome, too.

Morse Library is located at 105 Main St., Greene Village, just off Route 202 and a quarter mile down from Greene Central School. For more information, call 207-946-5544 or visit www.morse.lib.me.us.
