LEWISTON — Normand J. Grivois, 69, also known as “Buckweat,”died Sunday, April 8, following a long illness.
He was born in Grand Isle on Oct. 1, 1948, the son of Patrick and Mabel (Caron) Grivois.
Normand worked at Pratt & Whitney, Chicken Coop, and was a chef while serving in the U.S. Army in Korea in 1970. After returning home, he was employed for Frozen Mill, Mr. Donut, Country Kitchen and American Stabilis.
Survivors include his best friend and former wife, Judy (Martin) Grivois; one daughter, Karen Roy, and husband, David; one loving granddaughter, Amber Roy; two brothers, Herby and Ora Grivois of Florida and Louis and Shirly; three sisters, Albertine Moura, Jean and Gil Damboise, Alberta Demerchant, all of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Rossane Sirous and Irene Grivois; one brother, Raymond Grivois; two brothers-in-law, Rodney Demerchant and James Moura.
