TOPSHAM — School Administrative District 75 is soliciting residents’ input through an online survey as it begins searching for a new superintendent of schools.

Brad Smith, superintendent since 2011, plans to retire July 1.

The SAD 75 board has planned to consult the Maine School Management Association in finding his replacement. If a new school chief is not found by his last day, the district may choose an interim superintendent to fill the role, Smith said last month.

In the meantime, the board is asking parents, students and staff to share the attributes and qualities they’d like to see in a new schools chief. The deadline to respond to the poll at surveymonkey.com/r/MSAD75ss is Monday, April 23.
