LEWISTON — The Auburn-Lewiston Sports Hall of Fame will hold its 35th annual Induction and Awards Banquet on Sunday, May 6 at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston.

This year’s inductees for career achievement are Carolyn Court— coach, Bates College women’s track; Pete Couture — professional bowling legend; Ray DeBlois —member of the SUNY-Plattsburgh 1992 Division III national champion hockey team; and Jimmy Hood — UMaine football star and local coach. The Class of 2018 will join over 150 individuals previously enshrined in the community Hall of Fame.

Among other awards to be presented include the Chamber of Commerce President’s Award to area coaches and graduating student-athletes for their recent outstanding accomplishments, and the Flashback to Fame Award to the 1968 Lewiston High School State Champion hockey team on its 50th anniversary.

The organization’s Pioneer Award will recognize the sports activities of the late Mary Kendall, and the Earl Austin Award will be presented to the memory of Michael Giroux.

The banquet will begin at noon with a social period followed by dinner and presentations. Admission is by reservation only. Tickets are $35 and are available at the LA Metro Chamber of Commerce office at 415 Lisbon Street. Contact Rachel Bishop for reservations and information.
