LEWISTON — Helen E. Lehoux, 87, passed away peacefully at Montello Manor on Saturday, April 7.
She was born in Leeds on June 25, 1930, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Burgess) Riggs. The foster parents who raised Helen were Bernie and Gladys Hartford.
She attended schools in Leeds and was a graduate of Monmouth Academy.
Helen began work at Albany Felt Company until her marriage to Robert Lehoux Sr. in 1950. She was a housewife, as well as stitcher at Bon Am Shoe until her retirement.
She loved the outdoors, flowers, and her family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Robert Lehoux Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Greene; two daughters, Diane Poirier of Vassalboro, and Janice Ayer of Greene; one brother, Charles Riggs of Georgia, one half brother, Gerald Hartford and wife, Valarie, of Leeds; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert, on Feb. 8, 2003.
