LEWISTON — Talk on the historic Portland-Lewiston Interurban, noon, Lewiston Public Library, by Phil Morse and Donald Curry. The electric railroad was a subsidiary of the Androscoggin Electric Company and operated from 1914 to 1933 between Monument Square in Portland and Union Square in Lewiston. In 1914 Theodore Roosevelt rode from Lewiston to Portland on the luxury interurban, Narcissus. The only interurban from the line saved is under restoration at Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport.
