RINGWOOD, Victoria, Australia — Scott Joseph Spaulding, 61, formerly of Dixfield and Old Orchard Beach, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, in Ringwood Private Hospital in Ringwood East, Victoria, Australia. He was a resident of Mooroolbark, Victoria, Australia.
Born July 15, 1956, in Rumford, the son of Albert and Annie Brown Spaulding, Scott was a 1974 graduate of Dirigo High School, where he participated in the baseball and basketball programs.
After his graduation from the University of Maine at Farmington, he was employed by the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments and later by the John Hancock Insurance Co. He found his true calling when he became a career counselor in Maine and later in Australia, where he counseled clients from around the world. This was his life work until his passing.
Scott is survived by his father, Albert W. Spaulding of Dixfield; his companion, Maricel Azarcon; and daughter, Chelsea Spaulding of Mooroolbark; sons, Nicholas and Adam Spaulding of Australia; son, Eric Valentino of Maine; sisters, Rosalie Spaulding of St. George, Utah, Pamela Spaulding of Jay, Laurie Marquis of Rumford; brothers, Alan Spaulding of Silver Spring, Md., and Forrest of Dixfield. He was predeceased by his mother, Annie.
