DURHAM — Three bond measures and the town budget earned the backing Saturday of residents who attended the annual town meeting.

About 200 people showed up to approve a $2 million bond issue for roads, a $480,000 bond for a new firetruck and a $250,000 bond for a rescue truck, according to Town Administrator Ruth Glaeser.

Glaeser said one item that didn’t pass was a request to purchase a new truck and snowplow package for $210,000.

But every other significant part of the annual warrant was approved, Glaeser said.

In the town’s election Friday, 157 people cast ballots to choose Richard George as selectman/assessor, Neil Berry, Leigh Fisher and Michael Clark for the Budget Committee, and Candace Decsipkes as an RSU 5 board member.
