BINGHAMTON — Tomas Nido had two doubles and three runs batted in as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Portland Sea Dogs 5-3 Saturday afternoon.
Binghamton had a four-run fifth inning to take a 5-2 lead.
Peter Alonso and Jhoan Urena each had an RBI in the victory.
The Sea Dogs had a 2-1 lead after three innings. Josh Tobias had a solo blast in the top of the second inning to give Portland a 1-0 lead. In the top of the third, Esteban Quiroz put Portland back on top with a solo blast to right field of his own.
Tobias had another RBI in the top of the ninth inning.
Danny Mars had two hits for the Sea Dogs.
Eric Hanhold picked up the victory for Binghamton as he came in relief of starter Andrew Church who went four and a third innings. Corey Taylor picked up his first save of the season as he pitched the ninth allowine one run.
Dedgar Jimenez went four and two-thirds innings for the Sea Dogs allowing four runs and he struck out four.
