RUMFORD — Eddie Brill, who worked on “The Late Show with David Letterman” for 17 years, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater.

Brill served as the audience warm-up and for 11 years with Letterman and was the stand-up comedy talent coordinator.

A three-time MAC award winner for Outstanding Male Comic in New York City, Brill has hosted and performed for hundreds of corporate events. He performed on some of the greatest stages in the world, including The Shrine Auditorium and Radio City Music Hall. He has appeared in numerous films as an actor, most recently in “30 Years To Life” with Tracy Morgan. 

Brill produces and helps book stand-up talent all over the world and is the creative director of the Great American Comedy Festival and the Woodstock Comedy Festival in Woodstock, New York. 

Along with Norman Lear in 1978, he helped create one of the first college comedy writing departments in the country at Emerson College in Boston. He also helped create the Emerson Comedy Workshop, founded in 1976. He teaches a highly acclaimed stand-up comedy workshop worldwide that helps comics young and old take their comedy work to the next level.

Brill has been working with The American Comedy Hall of Fame producing comedy archives and wrangling the talent for the soon-to-be produced Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.

He performs and helps raise money for many benefits, including The Roberto Clemente Foundation, Sisters in Survival, Juvenile Diabetes and the American Cancer Association.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for social and seating, and a pub style menu will be available, featuring sandwiches, salads and fried foods.
