I love guns. I look at them the same way that some people look at paintings. I admire their craftsmanship and design. Things like a schnabel forend, twin barrels, or just the simplicity of a break-down single barrel merits my wonder and appreciation.

It distresses me to see the mess the National Rifle Association has caused with its encouragement of lax laws and lobbying of politicians who are drawn to the hope of money to support their campaigns.

Now, sensible shooters like myself must pay the price of the political greed.

When I need an automatic weapon to hunt, I will know it is time to quit.

I wish the students success and thank them for taking their stand. They have restored my pride in America.
