LEWISTON — The Central Maine Human Resources Association will hold its April meeting from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the Carriage House in Lewiston. Skelton Taintor & Abbott attorney Jim Pross will present on the topic of “Workers’ Compensation Claims for Employers: Helpful Hints and a Guide to Handling Claims.”
The program will focus on tips for how employers handle workers’ compensation claims from investigation to mediation. Pross will present an overview of key concepts in workers’ compensation in Maine and also review questions that may arise during an investigation and the role of the employer/human resources representative throughout the process.
Pross’s practice areas include workers’ compensation law, commercial real estate, municipal and government law and social security disability.
Active in the legal and local communities, Pross has served as president of the Androscoggin Land Trust and recently completed a two-year term as an Auburn city councilor and a joint two-year term as a member of the Auburn School Committee.
The event is free to CMHRA members and $25 per person for nonmembers.
