WEST PARIS — Maynard I. Trundy Sr., 92, of Minot passed away on Friday, March 23, at Ledgeview Living Center.
He was born in Hebron on March 25, 1925, the son of Oscar and Myrtle Bumpus Trundy. He attended schools in Minot and graduated from Buckfield High School. He married Cynthia Bonney on Dec. 9, 1944. Maynard worked in the woods, was a dairy farmer and owned pulling horses under the name, W&M Trundy Horses. He won trophies at the Fryeburg Fair and with his brother Robert, they won every class at Skowhegan Fair all in the same year. He was a member of the West Minot Union Church and the Maine Draft Horse & Ox Association. He loved baseball and enjoyed hunting in his younger years.
He is survived by a son, Warren, and his wife, Ellen, of Minot; daughter-in-law, Susan, of Minot; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife on March 20, 2011; and a son, Maynard Jr. (Sonny).
