NORWAY — The Center for an Ecology-Based Economy (CEBE) is joining with the Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) to form the Western Mountains chapter of CCL, which will meet in Norway. CCL is a national organization focused on changing public policy to address climate change. CEBE has been working in Western Maine for the last five years to raise awareness about climate change and increase community resilience to its effects.

CEBE and CCL will join at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in the Commons, 447 Main St., to explain more about initiatives and become part of a multifaceted approach to addressing climate change in Western Maine and beyond. As part of the kick-off event CEBE will also screen the recently released short film, “Saving Snow,” which examines the effects of climate change on, and actions being taken by, the U.S. ski industry, with a special connection to Maine.

Refreshments will be served and all are welcome. For more information, call CEBE at 207-739-2101 or email info@ecologybasedeconomy.org.

Citizen’s Climate Lobby members from across the nation gather in Washington, D.C.
