JAY — A panel presentation by staff members and students at Spruce Mountain High School is scheduled for Sunday afternoon as part of the school’s accreditation process.
The presentation, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., is to be followed by group interviews with parents and school board members. The gathering concludes with a public reception.
SMHS students, parents, and guardians are urged to participate as the school prepares for a visit from educators representing the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
The NEASC team’s visit is to begin the accreditation process for the consolidated high school as it looks to create the best-possible learning environment.
The visiting team will observe school activities, methods and processes, while also meeting with members of the school community. The team is also expected to meet with and interview parents and guardians, who are unable to attend Sunday’s events.
Anyone interested in participating in a group interview Monday, March 26, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. should contact NEASC Chairwoman Kymberli Bryant at kbryant@rsu73.com or by calling 897-4336, Ext. 205.
SMHS has been preparing for the visit over the past two years.
The visiting team will produce a report of commendations and recommendations for the school. The report will be made public later this year.
