LIVERMORE — Selectpersons voted Tuesday night to change their meeting nights to Mondays, approved two junkyard permits, reviewed safe lifting procedures and heard an update on the town truck.

The board changed its meeting day to Tuesdays due to a work conflict when Wayne Timberlake was elected to the board. Another work conflict has led to the board returning to Monday night meetings. The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office, 10 Crash Road.

Administrative Assistant Amy Byron said the board also reviewed safe-lifting procedures for its road crew employees. Road foreman Roger Ferland was authorized to look into the costs for a Genie Lift, a device that lifts heavy objects.

Junkyard permit renewals for Richard Damon and Rodney Newfield were unanimously approved.

Byron said the town’s insurance company has declared the town truck a total loss. The truck broke down while plowing on the River Road during the snowstorm of March 7 and 8. It was damaged March 8 when the tow truck hauling it to Murray’s Garage could not make it up a hill.

She said the town is now waiting for the tow truck company’s insurance company to inspect the truck and give a report.

“The board will then decide if it will buy the truck back for parts or let them take it,” Byron said.

She said Selectperson Megan Dion requested that department heads have a specific date established for their budget submissions next year. Having a set deadline will ensure all materials are available when the budget committee and selectpersons begin reviewing the budget.

Bryon said a road committee meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Town Office.
