ANDOVER — In a close race, Selectman Jane Rich won re-election Tuesday with 122 votes to Brian Mills’ 120. The term is for three years.

Wendy Closson won a one-year term as selectman with 233 votes.

Melinda Averill received 249 votes to continue as town clerk and tax collector.

It was also a close race for fire chief, with Jim Adler garnering 121 votes to Leo Camire’s 118. Former Fire Chief Justin Tibbetts, who did not seek re-election, got 11 write-in votes.

Mark Farrington received 140 write-in votes for road commissioner, even though he did not seek re-election. David Dolloff received 47 votes, Darryl Wells had 20, David Jacques had 12 and Daniel Irish had 11.

For a position on the Andover School Board, Albert “Pete” Coolidge was chosen with 221 votes.

Averill said 257 residents voted and candidates have three to five days to request a recount.
