RUMFORD — Local business owner and actress Tammy Schmersal will host the popular live, local, original sketch comedy “Friday Night Live 8” at 49 Franklin. Chad Haynes will be the musical guest. The show is intended for audience members 18 and older and includes sketch comedy, news parody, commercial parody and music. Show dates are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, March 23 and 24 and 30 and 31.
Producers Scot and Cindy Grassette say, “Tammy has been in all eight shows and has created many popular characters during that time, including Julie, who is based on longtime local waitress Julie Salitino. She has played the elderly, she was a child, she’s been a hippie, played Cher, and more. She’s the perfect person to host ‘FNL 8,’ even if you’ve never met Tammy or know her characters you will love her and this show!”
Directed by Duane Glover, who is also one of the writers along with Scot Grassette and Susie Puiia, the show features original material, many times inspired or based on local people and places. You never know what references you may recognize — local, state or national as well as world topics.
The players featured in this show are some past favorites and some new as well, including Tammy Schmersal as host, Duane Glover, Ronnie Hutchinson, Mike Brennick, Scot Grassette, Eric Schmersal, Zac Calden, Cindy Grassette, Cody Smith, Kayla Puiia, Tom LeClair and Carol Smith.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for cash only pub food menu and cash bar. There are no reservations and seating is based on first-come basis. Tickets are available at www.49franklin.com and at All That Jazz and Bartash’s.
