SANDY RIVER PLANTATION — A truck driver escaped with minor injuries when his tractor-trailer went off the road on Route 4 early Saturday morning and rolled over.

Arthur Chadwick, 38, of Brownfield, was driving on snowy roads for Superior Trucking in a truck fully loaded with water at 1:15 a.m. when he hit an S-curve too fast and struck a utility pole. The truck rolled over on its side, according to Deputy Andrew Morgan of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Chadwick was not wearing his seat belt and was thrown inside the cab. He was able to get out of the truck by himself. He was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital for hip and back pain.

A crew from Dutch Gap Auto towing service in Chesterville worked to get the truck upright and out of the ditch. The tractor-trailer was likely demolished, Rangeley Fire Chief Tim Pellerin said.
