LIVERMORE — A tow truck hauling a town plow truck slid down a hill, causing both to jackknife and the plow truck to snap a utility pole on River Road on Thursday morning, Androscoggin County Chief Deputy William Gagne said.

No one was injured, he said.

Michael Hastings, 47, of Chesterville was driving the Dutch Gap Auto tow truck north near Maple Lane when the accident occurred at about 7:17 a.m., Gagne said.

The plow truck broke down during the night and the Chesterville tow company was taking it to Murray’s garage, according to Livermore Administrative Assistant Amy Byron.

Byron said the highway crew is down one big plow truck and will use the remaining two trucks, plus a medium-duty truck and a one-ton truck for plowing.
