AUBURN — Auburn Adult and Community Education is taking registration for winter/spring courses. Below is a sample of some of the offerings in March. A full list can be seen in the brochure at at www.auburn.maineadulted.org.

Painting with Maine Coffee and Canvas: Participants will paint with step-by-step instructions. Class starts Thursday, March 8.

Dementia Conversations: The program is designed for adults who have a family member or close friend beginning to experience Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Class starts Thursday, March 29.

Rules of the Road and Outsmart the Scammers: Two topics will be covered: First is moving toward financial goals; second, how to spot certain red flags that may indicate a fraudulent encounter and resources to turn to if targeted. Class starts Thursday, March 8.

Understanding Medicare: The presentation will review when eligible for benefits, the timeline for enrollment, what’s covered and not covered and financial assistance options. Class starts Wednesday, March 14.

Beginner’s Yoga: No experience necessary, all are welcome. Increases flexibility, creates movement and calms the mind. Class starts Thursday, March 29.

Ballroom Dancing – Beginning: This class will teach basic steps for several popular dances. Partners are required. Class starts Wednesday, March 14.

Ballroom Review: Dancers will review, learn additional dance steps and be introduced to a new dance as time permits. Partners are required. Class starts Wednesday, March 14.

Bell Dancing: Participants will learn basic moves, hear some of the history behind the dance and  meet other women in the community. Class starts Tuesday, March 20.

Pets and Essential Oils: Animal lovers will learn about essential oils, the different qualities, how they’re made and all the ways they can be used to help pets. Class starts Wednesday, March 21.
