READFIELD — Readfield Community Library will host a book talk by local author and historian Dale Potter-Clark from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 12; snow date, March 14.

Potter-Clark will discuss the book she co-authored with Charles L. Day, “The Founders and Evolution of Summer Resorts and Kids’ Camps on Four Lakes in Central Maine.” The 356-page book includes 220 vintage photos and information about more than 40 camps and resorts that once existed on Lovejoy, Torsey, Echo and Maranacook lakes. Also included in the book are chapters about the coming of the railroad, steamboats and the trolley, as well as tourism to this area in its early years.

Following a book talk and reading, the author will be available to sign copies of her books. Readfield Community Library is located on 1151 Main St., Route 17, Readfield Corner. FMI: 207-685-4089.
