We are supporting Lucas St. Clair for representative to Congress in Maine’s Second District.

St. Clair grew up in Dover-Foxcroft (a very rural part of the district), was home-schooled and then came to Gould Academy for high school. He is well-remembered by his classmates and teachers.

We have followed his accomplishments since, especially the remarkable work he did in gaining local and federal support for the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. That monument has become a key environmental and economic development driver in the Second District.

Both his grassroots experience in building support for the project — in many cases changing hearts and minds — and his experience in shepherding the project through Washington make him a terrific choice for Congress.

It is time for a change in who voters send to Washington. We hope Democrats will take a good hard look at Lucas St. Clair’s candidacy.
