LEWISTON — Maine Event Comedy presents Massachusetts comedian Brian Plumb at Baxter Brewing at 7 p.m. Friday, March 2. He’ll be joined by Ali Simpson, Liam McGurk, Zach Griffith and Nikki Martin.

Plumb’s confrontational style has made him a favorite throughout New England and beyond. He’s a regular at Comix at Mohegan Sun and will perform the upcoming Mutiny Radio Comedy Festival in San Francisco. Plumb was a semi-finalist at the Last Comix Standing contest at Foxwoods Casino and has played the Dallas Comedy Festival, Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas and NYC’s Greenwich Village Comedy Club.

Simpson, a mainstay of the Portland scene, was recently selected for Michigan’s LaughFest, a 10-day festival featuring stand-up, improv and film. She’s performed at multiple venues in New York City and zigzags across New England, finding stages everywhere from ImprovBoston to New Hampshire’s Shaskeen Pub, to some deserted pizza place in a Vermont ski town.

Despite his sleepy demeanor, McGurk is one of Boston’s fastest rising stars. He’s a regular at the Comedy Studio, Laugh Boston and Giggles Comedy Club.

Griffith, a relative newcomer to stand-up, is a familiar face in the Maine scene and was recently featured at Empire in Portland.

Martin is a schoolteacher who performs throughout Maine with hilarious tales of her occupation, married life and more.

The show is free and for ages 21 and older. Baxter Brewing is located at 130 Mill St. For more information, call 207-513-0742 or email maineeventcomedy@gmail.com.
