Portland police summoned the driver of a car that became stuck Sunday night on train tracks between Lincoln and Coyle streets in the city’s Woodfords neighborhood.
Sgt. Jake Tinkham said the driver, a male whose name was unavailable, received a summons for driving to endanger, a Class E misdemeanor.
Tinkham said the car blocked the railroad tracks for about 90 minutes before it could be towed, causing a delay in freight train traffic.
Train service resumed about 8:30 p.m. Tinkham did not elaborate further, other than to say the man was trying to operate the car on the railroad tracks.
“The trains were delayed until the car could be towed. The trains have resumed service,” Tinkham said.
