NEW GLOUCESTER — Connor Garvey, folk singer-songwriter, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the New Gloucester Village Coffeehouse.

Garvey is a folk singer-songwriter from Portland, whose unique sandy tenor and masterful blend of rhythm and melody draw comparison to Paul Simon and contemporaries Josh Ritter and Jason Mraz.

The combination of songwriting and performance strength has earned Garvey numerous folk festival and song writing awards, including winner of the 2011 Maine Songwriters Association competition. He was also voted most wanted artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, nominated for best male performer in the New England Music Awards and named a top new singer-songwriter by Sirius XM’s The Coffeehouse.

First-time listeners often are drawn to Garvey’s engaging performance style, accomplished musicianship and memorable melodies.
