Players to watch: Jr. G Anna DeWolfe, Greely; Sr. F Sophia Gilbert, Leavitt; Sr. F Becca Fogg, Leavitt.
Favorites: Brunswick, Hampden.
Both teams rolled through their regions during the regular season, each earning top seeds.
Dark horses: Greely, Skowhegan, Messalonskee.
Greely had only two losses: by two points at Brunswick and by 10 points at AA South top seed South Portland. The Rangers are legit. Skowhegan defeated Hampden in the regular season. Messalonskee made a run to the state title game last year.
Overview: Greely vs. Brunswick will be a heavyweight showdown should both teams reach the A South final. Hampden finished with the top seed, but Skowhegan and Messalonskee are serious threats in A North. Leavitt, the seventh seed, has the difficult task of opening the postseason against Greely.
Prediction: Greely in A South, Skowhegan in A North.
