Sunday Indie Market on Lisbon Street
LEWISTON — A Sunday Indie Market will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at the old Lamey Wellehan Building, 110 Lisbon St.
This month will feature 20 local artists, vintage dealers, handmade artisans, music and pop-up food space. The market specializes in local, handmade, quirky and quality gifts.
Shark program at Auburn library
AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St., will host a program, Sharks4Kids, at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22. Jessica Woodend, Maine regional ambassador for Sharks4Kids, will give an informative program on sharks.
Sharks4Kids will be an hourlong adventure into the ocean to explore sharks and their unique adaptations, with a focus on the species found in the Gulf of Maine. The free program is best for school-age children.
Uplift LA to host community meeting
LEWISTON — Uplift LA will host a meeting with community members at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Sidecar.
Community leaders will answer what brought them the Lewiston-Auburn area, what they are doing to shape the community, what drives them and more as they share their experiences. Through brief, personal stories, speakers will have a chance to shine a spotlight on the work they do every day.
The event is free and open to the public.
Grangers to hold ‘Humor Night’
AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet at Danville Union Church for dessert at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22. The meeting will start at 7 p.m.
The program, presented by lecturer Norma Meserve, will be “Humor Night.”
Members are reminded to bring clipped coupons for the troops and donations for PAL.
Raffle membership slots open
SABATTUS — Loaves and Fishes is offering membership in a 300 raffle with an opportunity to win a drawing for $1,000 each month.
The Loaves and Fishes food pantry and support services, through the Dominican Sisters of Sabattus, is mostly sustained through donations and fundraisers. With the raffle, 300 participants contribute $60 for the year, then look forward to the second Sunday of each month for the drawing.

Grafting fruit trees to be workshop focus
LISBON FALLS — Grafting fruit trees will be the focus of a hands-on workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 10, at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, 24 Main St.
Southern Maine Community College adjunct instructor Thomas Hoerth will lead the workshop, demonstrating the proper techniques for grafting fruit trees.
The $48-a-person fee includes the necessary tools and supplies to graft a pear tree that participants will be able to take home. Registration is online at extension.umaine.edu/register/product/fruit-tree-grafting-workshop-gray-maine.
The course is approved for three International Society of Arboriculture CEUs and one Maine Landscape and Nursery Association CEU.
