WLU discussing L-A image
AUBURN — “Changing Faces: Using History to Promote L-A” will discuss the image of Lewiston and Auburn, the mill towns they were and how that image may be updated.
The Woman’s Literary Union will host John Henderson, local historian, as he outlines a strategy to use history to change the area’s self-image, and the way that others imagine it. The program will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at the Foss Mansion, 19 Elm St.
Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.
RESIST hosting film series
AUBURN — RESIST Central Maine will initiate its free monthly film series by showing Michael Moore’s film, “Capitalism, a Love Story.”
It will be shown at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at the First Universalist Church’s community room on Spring Street. Ample parking available. Any questions may be addressed by calling 207-449-9011.
Drumming group making a beat
LEWISTON — The Hand Drumming Group plays from 1 to 3 p.m. on the second Sunday of the month, at Trinity Church, 247 Bates St.
All levels and styles of drummers can play, and they can bring their own instrument or try one of the club’s drums. The cost to play is by donation.
Golden Age Club plans Valentine’s Day party
AUBURN — The Immaculate Heart of Mary Golden Age Club will have a Valentine’s Day party at the Tuesday, Feb. 13, meeting.
Members should bring their own lunch. Dessert will be ice cream brownie delight. There will be games and prizes.

Pantry seeks book donations
AUBURN — The High Street Food Pantry is seeking donations of children’s books for infants through teens.
Donations may be brought to the Auburn United Methodist Church, at 439 Park Ave.

Cribbage league to play
LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League plays Thursdays at the Lewiston Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave.
Doors open at 8 a.m., and games will begin at 9 a.m.
The league plays through April, but games are played year-round.
