LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus has announced upcoming workshops:

A Living Well with Diabetes workshop will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 9 to March 16, in the Education Center, 8 Falcon Road.

Living Well with Chronic Pain sessions will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 7 to March 14, in the Education Center.

Living Well for Better Health will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays, March 12 to April 16, in the Harper Conference Room, Ripley Building, Stephens Memorial Hospital, 181 Main St., Norway.

Living Well with Diabetes and Living Well for Better Health are evidence-based self-management workshops originally developed at Stanford University and supported by Spectrum Generations. Participants have less pain, more energy and fewer hospitalizations. Discussions and activities focus on dealing with frustration, exercising at level of ability, working with healthcare providers and setting goals.

Living Well with Diabetes teaches participants tools to manage their Type 2 diabetes, including menu planning, monitoring levels, healthy eating, physical activity and foot care. The workshop is for caregivers as well.

Living Well with Chronic Pain is geared for those who have chronic pain lasting longer than six months, or for someone who cares for another with chronic pain. Learn appropriate exercises for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, endurance, techniques for pacing activity and rest, and how to evaluate new treatments.

There will be a drawing for a $25 gift card at the end of each workshop and snacks will be provided during each session.
