PARIS — Paris Public Library’s “Novel Idea Book Club” is a multi-age group of adults and youth who read, learn from and discuss children’s, juvenile and young adult selections with sophisticated content. The focus revolves around various cultures, human rights or lack of, historical fiction, realistic fiction, biography and/or selections with a universal message.

The club will meet to discuss the Junior Fiction 1992 Newbery Award Medal book, “Shiloh,” by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20.

The main character, Marty, an 11-year-old living in West Virginia, strives to help a mistreated beagle puppy. This heartwarming selection shows many sides of human nature and the struggles between right and wrong.
