LEWISTON — Imagine a roomful of chocolate delights to sample from during the lull that occurs after the holiday season. Imagine pastries, cakes, mousses and other delicacies produced by fine restaurants and chefs from the Lewiston-Auburn area. That is Chocolat.
Lewiston Middle School will present its ninth annual chocolate fundraiser for school activities from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The annual event will be held at the Green Ladle on the Lewiston High School campus. Area chefs and restaurants will compete for awards such as “Chocoholic’s Dream” and “Decadent Display.”
Patrons who participate will determine the people’s choice “Candy is Dandy Award.” The culinary arts students from Lewiston’s Regional Technical Center will also produce a selection of foods to complement the chocolate delicacies.
Tickets are available at the Green Ladle and Lewiston Middle School, as well as through school staff members. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event. Tickets are $10 and children under 5 are free.
The seven area groups and businesses who have committed to participate in the competition are: Maine Gourmet Chocolates, Top it Frozen Yogurt Bar, Central Maine Community College Dining Services, Rolly’s Diner, Rails Restaurant, Kira’s Cupcakes and Russell Park Rehab Dining Services.
