The Sun Journal is not for sale.

We have been hearing from readers concerned that the “FOR SALE” sign on the corner of Park and Pine streets means the newspaper is up for sale. It is not.

The former Sun Journal building at that location is still owned by the Costello family, who sold the Sun Journal and other Sun Media Group publications to ?Reade Brower last year but retained that building for other purposes.

Sun Journal operations that were once spread throughout the two buildings on Park Street have now been consolidated into the brick Sun Journal building at 104 Park St., including a new customer service entrance and a ramp for the handicapped scheduled to open next Thursday.

Rest assured the Sun Journal, under Rockland-based owner Brower, plans to be here — offering area news, advertising and perspective on our communities — for years to come.
