PARIS — The second annual Paris Hill Music Festival is scheduled for Aug. 9 to 11, and performers will be announced.

The festival is a nonprofit event and has three designated ways to distribute the profits: 50 percent to future festivals; 30 percent to the Oxford Hills schools Music Boosters; and 20 percent to Friends of the First Baptist Church of Paris, which is responsible for the renovation and maintenance of the 1838 church building where the concert is held.

In December 2017 the Paris Hill Music Festival gave a check to the Friends of the First Baptist Church for $4,201. On Dec. 18 the festival presented a check for $6,302 to the Music Boosters president at the Christmas program for the music programs of the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

“From the very beginning, we wanted this music festival to benefit the community in any way possible,” Mary Beth Caffey, 2017 festival director, said. “We are so excited to have the opportunity to help our future musicians, while also helping restore our first meeting venue in our town’s history.”

“The more participation by the community we have, the more we can reinvest into our community,” she said.
