FARMINGTON — Gloria M. A. Bickford, 92, a resident of Jay, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, at Sandy River Center in Farmington, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Feb. 9, 1925, in Jay, the daughter of Elzear H. Boucher and Marie Louise (Michaud) Boucher.

She attended St. Rose School and was a 1944 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On May 4, 1957, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married her husband of 57 years, Ernest Bickford, of Livermore. Mr. Bickford passed away Oct. 29, 2014.

Gloria devoted her time to her family and home, and also worked as a certified nurse assistant at Edgewood Manor in Farmington. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, served as a Eucharistic minister, was a member of the Resurrection choir and the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of Tri-Town Senior Citizens and Weight Watchers, and she and her husband later became part of the Weight Watcher’s support team. Gloria and Ernest devoted their time as volunteers in the Cancer Support Team and Hospice at Franklin Memorial Hospital for 19 years. Gloria enjoyed doing crafts and spending time with her family and friends.

Gloria is survived by her five children: Ann Louise Buckland, of Farmington; Mark F. Bickford, and wife, Donna, of Jay; Susie E. Millett, and husband, Steve, of Jay; John A. Bickford, of Jay; and Paul L. Bickford, of Hull, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; her brother, Elzie Boucher; half-sisters, Adel Merrill and Eva Connors.
