As a Livermore Falls taxpayer, I believe it may be time for Livermore and Livermore Falls to take their schools back. Given the continued lowering of the town of Jay’s valuation, it is time for Livermore and Livermore Falls to rethink their membership in RSU 73.

As Jay’s value continues to drop like a rock, Livermore and Livermore Falls will continue to have to pick up the slack to keep the RSU going. That means paying higher taxes each year, as taxes in these communities are sure to increase as Jay’s value has continued to decrease.

Each town still has the schoolhouses from before the formation of RSU 73 and I know that members of the community would be happy to have their school identity back, not to mention also seeing their children going to school closer to home with less busing.
