DEAR SUNSPOTS: Is there anyone in the North Jay/Wilton area who might have a copy of the Historical Sketch for the North Jay Bartlett Memorial United Methodist Church and the Wilton United Methodist Church they might be willing to part with, or let me borrow to make a copy? The booklet is approximately 6 by 9 inches and has the history of the North Jay Church and contains photos of North Jay families. Please call 645-2190.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for all the help and good work you do. You are the first thing I read in the paper.

I am looking for hat boxes for a fedora and a cloche hat, about 8½ to 9 inches high. I have looked in the Twin Cities, Augusta and Portland, malls and craft stores to no avail. I hope someone can help me. My phone number is 782-3154. Leave a message if no one answers. Thank you.

ANSWER: If you are looking for vintage hat boxes, try Orphan Annie’s Antiques at 96 Court St. in Auburn. Their phone number is 782-0638 or email orantiques@myfairpoint.net. They are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

You may also want to peruse the Waterfront Flea Market at Fort Andross in Brunswick. I have found hat boxes there in the past. The flea market is open weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may also want to check out Cabot Mill Antiques next to the flea market.

I also found a very unique shop in Hancock, New Hampshire, that makes custom hat boxes if you want something really special. These are very beautiful and there are many colors and sizes to choose from. At Sarah’s Hat Boxes, boxes of all types are made by hand from recycled chipboard and nontoxic adhesives. They have a showroom at 141 Forest Road. For more information, call 603-525-3800. www.sarahshatboxes.com.

The Container Store, Target, U.S. Box Corp., and Etsy are all online companies that sell hat boxes. Good luck!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does anybody know where I can get wallet-size calendars?

— No name, Bethel

ANSWER: Inquire at your financial institution. Banks often have those. I have also seen them at Staples, Big Lots, Hallmark stores and Dollar Tree.
