LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, as part of its Professional Development Series, will hold a Shooter Preparedness Workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at the chamber conference room, 415 Lisbon St.
The workshop was rescheduled from Jan. 4.
William DeLong, protective security adviser for Maine, of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will provide information designed for the business and small office sector, including an overview for preparedness against active shooter incidents. Because such incidents are unpredictable and evolve quickly, preparing for and knowing what to do can be the difference between life and death.
This program charges a registration fee of $25 for members, $50 for nonmembers. The fee is not charged by the Department of Homeland Security. To cancel a registration, the chamber requires notification of cancellation no less than 48 hours before the start time of the event. Otherwise, no refunds will be issued. Registration is available at https://lametrochamber.com/ and click on “events.”
Parking is available in the parking garage next to the chamber. The chamber does not validate parking. Additional parking is available across the street in the Kaplan parking lot.
Lunch will not be provided; those attending are free to bring their own.
For more information, call the Chamber at 207-783-2249.
