RUMFORD — Boston’s Ben Quick leads a trio of New England’s top comics to Rumford as Maine Event Comedy returns to 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater, Saturday, Jan. 13, at 8 p.m. Quick will be joined by Portland’s Ian Stuart and New Hampshire’s Nick Lavallee.

Combining a wide array of talents including singing, songwriting and guitar playing, Quick’s energetic presence is as undeniable as it is uncompromising. He was recently featured in San Francisco’s Mutiny Radio Comedy Festival, has been a comic in residence at the Comedy Studio, and has toured the Northeast for Comedy Blast.

Founder of the Portland Maine Comedy Festival, Stuart has performed in Chicago, Texas, Ohio, New Mexico and Montreal. He’s a familiar face at New York City’s RoastMasters show and his self-produced videos have surpassed hundreds of thousands of views online. Stuart regularly produces shows throughout Maine.

Thrice named New Hampshire’s Best Comedian, Lavallee has opened for Andrew “Dice” Clay and his online content, including the music video “I Love You, Sally Struthers,” which starred the famous actress, has been featured on “Funny or Die” and “Rooftop Comedy.”

The Mystic Theater is located at 49 Franklin St. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at Bartash’s and All That Jazz on Congress Street or online at www.49franklin.com. The show is for ages 18 and older.
