Lewiston Fire Inspector Paul Ouellette checks out the damage inside a van at the corner of Curtis and Cottage streets in Lewiston on Friday morning while trying to determine the cause of a fire. The owner of the van, Jac Williams, said that shortly after he started it up he smelled smoke and got out to see fire under the van. Within seconds the entire van was engulfed and began melting the siding of his home, he said. Firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished the blaze with no further damage to the building.
