Jay Police Chief Richard Caton drops a wreath off the POW/MIA Remembrance Bridge into the Androscoggin River in Jay on Thursday to honor Hyla Friedman, who drove trucks on a naval base during World War II and spearheaded Jay veterans’ projects. Another wreath was dropped by Louise Tardif, hidden, to honor service members during a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremony.
